As part of the global One Billion Rising Campaign, Sakhi Kendra organized a series of comprehensive awareness programs across different communities to address the critical issues of gender-based violence, women’s rights, and gender equality. The campaign aimed to sensitize individuals, families, and community leaders about the importance of creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for women and girls.
The awareness sessions included interactive discussions, group activities, and educational workshops designed to enhance understanding of women’s legal rights, personal safety, health, and dignity. Special emphasis was placed on encouraging open dialogue, breaking social taboos, and challenging harmful norms and stereotypes that contribute to violence and discrimination. Participants were motivated to recognize their role in preventing abuse, supporting survivors, and promoting positive behavioral change within their families and communities.

Through these programs, Sakhi Kendra sought to strengthen community engagement, build collective responsibility, and inspire action toward ending violence against women. The campaign successfully empowered participants with knowledge, confidence, and a renewed commitment to stand together for justice, equality, and respect, contributing meaningfully to the broader goal of social transformation and women’s empowerment.
